Entries for each contest race will open a day in advance, providing
the information is available from the host track, and will close at
post time of the designated race.
8.
For
each designated race, patrons who have selected the winning horse
will be entered into a random drawing for a $25 gift certificate to
Silks Restaurant at Sports Haven.
9.
Gift
certificates are promotion and can be used one time, as no change
will be given for unused amounts.
10.
In
the event that a designated race is canceled or postponed, then
there will be no contest that day. The contest will resume the
following day with the scheduled designated race.
11.
Patrons do not have to be present to win the gift certificate, but
must claim the prize in person with proper picture identification.
Saturday Seminar
Promotion
1.
Each
Saturday during the Saratoga meet (July 26, August 2, August 9,
August 16, August 23, and August 30) one of the three sports writers
will give a racing seminar at Sports Haven. The seminar will start
at Noon for approximately one hour.
2.
On
each Saturday, everyone at Sports Haven is eligible to enter a free
Saratoga Challenge contest.
3.
People may select any five races on the Saratoga card and make their
selections in such races.
4.
The
winner of the contest is the person with the highest total winning
pay-offs from the horses they selected.
5.
Contestants can enter the Saturday Contest at any point during the
card as long as there are at least five races left from which to
play.
6.
Prize money is $250 on each Saturday.
7.
Contestants will be paid with a voucher.
8.
In
addition, the top ten finishers each week will each qualify for a
free entry into a contest on Labor Day, Monday, September 1.
9.
In
the event of a tie for first place, the money will be equally
divided.
10.
In
the event of a tie for 10th place, all people involved in
the tie will qualify for the contest on Labor Day.
11.
People need not be present to win at the conclusion of the Saturday
contest in order to win.
12.
Winners must pick up their winnings in person and present valid
identification.
13.
One
entry per person per contest day.
14.
If a
selection is scratched, the entrant will get the post time favorite.
If a person selects an entry and one-half of the entry is scratched,
he will get the other half of the entry.
15.
Entries and fields go as a single betting interest.
16.
In
the event that any portion of the Saratoga card is cancelled, the
contest will also be cancelled for that day and no prizes awarded.
17.
In
the event that a person selects a horse that is scratched, the
person will be given the post time favorite.
18.
People who select a coupled entry will get both horses in the entry.
In the event of field entries, people may only select one horse.
Labor Day Contest
Finals – Live Money
1.
All
patrons who have qualified for the finals through the Saturday
promotions will receive a free entry into a live money contest on
Monday, September 1.
2.
Each
person will be given a contest card with a $20 balance.
3.
Patrons who have not qualified for a free entry can also enter by
purchasing a $20 wagering card.
4.
Players will make their selections from the Saratoga card.
5.
Contestants must wager at least $20 throughout the contest, no
maximum.
6.
Win,
Place, Show wagers only.
7.
One
horse per race.
8.
Players keep all pari-mutuel winnings.
9.
Minimum wager is $2 per race, no maximum.
10.
Contestants can play as many races on the Saratoga card that they
want, as long as, at the end of the contest, they have wagered at
least $20.
11.
Patrons can only qualify for the finals once and can only have one
entry on the Labor Day Contest.
12.
Contestants can play the finals at any Autotote branch, or through
On The Wire Phone wagering.
13.
Contestants who make any type of wager other than win, place, show
will be disqualified from the contest. Adding additional cash to a
bankroll will also result in a disqualification.
14.
The
winner of the contest is the person who has the highest total in his
account. If there is a tie, the money will be equally divided among
all those tied.
15.
Winner of the contest wins $2,000.
16.
Patrons must place all wagers in person. No intermediaries or
agents may place wagers. There will be no refunds. There will also
be no refunds in the event that a contestant is disqualified.
17.
All
tournament wagers must be made on self-service terminals using a
tournament plastic account card and pin number or through the On The
Wire phone wagering service.
18.
No
cancellations on any wagers for any reason after post time. In the
event of a late scratch, the rules of the host track will prevail.
19.
Since this is a live money/ live results contest, anyone withdrawing
money from their account before the contest is official, will no
longer be considered an entrant in the contest.
20.
All
official track rulings will apply to horses and wagering pools.
21.
Autotote is not responsible for shut outs or incomplete
transactions. No exceptions under any circumstances.
22.
Autotote is not responsible for lost or mutilated account cards.
23.
The decision of the judges in all matters related to the contest is
final.
For All promotions:

Winners are
subject to all state and federal tax requirements.

The receipt of
a registration form signifies the entrant’s acceptance of all
rules and conditions stated herein.

All
contestants must be 18 years of age.

All
participants agree to have their name or image appear in any
publicity material (newspaper, posters, newsletters, programs,
etc) and to be printed in any publication.

Officers and
employees and their immediate families, of Autotote Enterprises
and the employees of the Division of Special Revenue, State of
Connecticut, and Journal Register employees are not eligible to
enter the contest.
