Silverstein Wins On the Wire Phone Handicapping Contest

Hits trifecta at Hialeah to win contest
New Haven, CT - March 19, 2001 - Jeff Silverstein, of Mount Vernon, NY,
scored big when he hit the trifecta in Hialeahs fifth race Sunday to win the second
On the Wire Phone Wagering tournament.
Silverstein finished with $1,055.40 in earnings to win the $2,000 first place prize.
The trifecta paid $1,173.40 (Threeminuteappeal, Silence's Ransom, Momentous). Paul T
Seipold, of East Haven, CT, finished second, only $5.40 behind the winner. He had $50 to
win and place on Tunetastic in Aqueducts seventh race, a $200 win bet on Richly
Blended in Aqueducts Gotham Stakes and he hit a $19 exacta in the Fairgrounds
tenth race. Seipold won second place prize money of $1,500.
Dennis Sudul, of South Salem, NY, finished third with $880 in winnings. He won $750 in
prize money Tom Jaeger, of Norwalk, CT, winner of the first On the Wire Phone Wagering
contest held in December, had $576.60 in winnings and took home $500 fourth place prize
money. Richard Rizzo, of North Providence, RI, had $487.75 in winnings to earn fifth place
prize money of $250.
The contest was open to anyone with an On the Wire Phone Wagering account. Contestants
deposited $200 into a contest account, and wagered on thoroughbred, harness, greyhound or
jai-alai action. Players could make any type of bet, win extactas, trifectas, pick
3s, etc.
The next tournament Autotote will host is the $68,000 Bradley Teletheater Handicapping
Challenge, July 7 - 8.
